Kankakee Jobless Rate Fell in March

Kankakee’s employment rate fell in March to 6.4 percent.  That’s down from 6.8 in February but still slightly higher than the 6.2 in March of last year. The Illinois Department of Employment Security reports that Kankakee County added five hundred jobs over the last year.  Rockford has the highest jobless rate in the state at 6.7, Bloomington has the lowest at 4.2. Statewide unemployment in Illinois is at 5 percent.
